About This Event
The event titled 'Training on Food Security and Nutrition' is designed to provide comprehensive education and practical skills linked to agriculture, nutrition, and public health, aimed at strengthening food systems and combating hunger. This intensive training spans five days and includes a detailed curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on exercises, real-world case studies, and valuable networking opportunities among peers and experts in the field. Participants will receive a thorough understanding of the four pillars of food security: availability, access, utilization, and stability, and how these pillars interconnect with nutrition-sensitive agriculture and policy frameworks. The training equips attendees with tools and techniques to assess food security and nutrition challenges at various levels—community, national, and global.Throughout the course, participants will engage with several key modules, including 'Foundations of Food Security and Nutrition,' which covers definitions, frameworks, and global trends; 'Nutrition and Public Health Linkages,' which addresses the types and consequences of malnutrition and the role of agriculture in improving nutrition outcomes; 'Food Systems and Sustainable Approaches,' focusing on the impact of climate change and promoting resilient food systems; and 'Policy, Governance, and Program Design,' which deals with national and international food security policy frameworks. The training culminates in practical applications where participants will conduct food security assessments and analyze case studies from diverse regions including Africa and Asia. The course is suitable for a variety of professionals, including government officials, food policy planners, program managers, researchers, nutritionists, public health officers, and development practitioners. No specific prerequisites are required, making it accessible to both technical and non-technical participants interested in food security. Upon completion, attendees will receive a certification from Ideal Workplace Solutions, accredited by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). Customized training solutions are available, allowing organizations to tailor content to their specific needs and challenges. This training represents a significant opportunity for professionals to enhance their skills and contribute effectively to food security and nutrition initiatives.
