About This Event
The International Symposium on Transport Phenomena and Dynamics of Rotating Machinery (ISROMAC19) is set to take place at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent interruption of the symposium series, the organizing committee decided to relocate the event from its traditional venue in Hawaii to Tokyo. This decision was made after careful consideration of several practical constraints, including cost, accessibility, and scheduling. The ISROMAC series, which began in 1985, has a history of fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of transport phenomena and rotating machinery dynamics, including compressors, turbines, pumps, multiphase flows, cavitation, rotor dynamics, heat transfer, combustion, aeroacoustics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and experimental techniques.Tokyo is selected for its excellent international accessibility and the support of an experienced organizing team known for their success in hosting international symposiums and conferences. The committee is dedicated to ensuring a high-quality symposium experience for all participants. They invite both long-standing members and first-time attendees to submit their papers, contributing to a strong technical program that promotes engaging discussions. The symposium will maintain its commitment to advancing the field and fostering collaboration among participants, supported by a list of past organizing chairs who have contributed to the series' success. Preparations are already underway for future events, including a return to Hawaii for ISROMAC20.
