About This Event
The 'Automotive Systems Engineering Compact' seminar offers a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering in the context of product development, particularly focused on the automotive industry. As digital technologies continue to revolutionize engineering practices, the seminar highlights the necessity for engineers to grasp the complexities of multidisciplinary systems that integrate software, mechanical engineering, and electrical/electronic engineering. Participants will learn essential concepts and methodologies that are vital for managing the entire lifecycle of complex systems, as outlined in ISO 15288, which encompasses systems and software engineering processes.Throughout the seminar, attendees will engage with fundamental topics such as the definition and motivation behind systems engineering, an overview of systems theory, and the distinction between system and project lifecycles. The curriculum covers critical components like stakeholder needs, integration strategies, and verification and validation techniques. A strong emphasis is placed on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), introducing participants to its three fundamental pillars and modeling structures of systems. Interactive exercises using tools such as Miro, Padlet, Mentimeter, and Kahoot will enhance the learning experience, providing practical application of the concepts discussed. This seminar is specifically designed for technical specialists and managers in mechanical and plant engineering, energy and environmental technology, medical technology, and production and manufacturing, as well as professionals from the automotive sector. The seminar is led by a team of top experts licensed by the Society for Systems Engineering, including Prof. Sebastian Schröter, a distinguished professor of Systems and Software Engineering at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. He brings extensive experience in systems engineering consulting and education, having advised numerous companies on implementing systems engineering practices. In addition to his academic role, he oversees a Master's program in Systems Engineering, ensuring integration of modern methodologies such as design thinking and MBSE into the curriculum. Participants can expect to gain valuable insights from Matthias Dorfner, who is responsible for Systems Engineering at Landshut University and is involved in the MBA program focused on Systems and Project Management. This seminar promises to equip engineers and managers with the knowledge and tools necessary to thrive in an era of increasing complexity in product development.
