Antlers and Academics: Deer Management Programs

The event titled Antlers and Academics: Deer Management Programs will provide an insightful overview of how the Pennsylvania Game Commission's deer management programs facilitate collaboration between hunters and agricultural producers to effectively manage deer populations. A key feature of the event will be a presentation by Pennsylvania Game Commission Lieutenant Brian Singer, who will discuss essential policies, procedures, and opportunities available through various programs aimed at managing agricultural damage related to deer. These include the Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP), the Agricultural Deer Management Assistance Program (ADMAP), and the Agricultural Damage Depredation Permit. Additionally, participants will learn about the successes of the Certified Hunter Program in Southwest Pennsylvania and how it supports these initiatives.This no-cost event encourages participants to engage with the material and ask questions, enhancing their understanding of the measures that can be taken to ensure responsible deer management on agricultural lands.
