About This Event
The Advanced Composites Techniques in Industry course offers a comprehensive exploration of modern composite manufacturing methods, specifically focusing on high-performance composite parts made from carbon fibers. This course is structured for participants of varying experience levels, from complete beginners to those with some hands-on experience in composites. Throughout the course, attendees will engage in practical work that emphasizes out-of-autoclave prepreg carbon fiber layup techniques, epoxy resin infusion with advanced reinforcements, and the intricacies of composite pattern and mould fabrication. By the conclusion of the course, all delegates will have developed the skills necessary to produce high-performance composite parts, including intricate carbon fiber tuning shapes and large-scale components like boat hulls. The training begins with foundational modules covering essential techniques such as layup on various moulds, using different laminate weights of prepreg carbon fiber, and achieving a flawless 'class A' surface finish. Participants will gain practical experience with the equipment, techniques, and materials required to meet the high standards expected in professional composite manufacturing. The course also delves into the innovative method of vacuum-assisted resin infusion, a significant advancement in composite manufacturing over the past 25 years. Participants will learn about resin infusion processes using epoxy resin and high-end reinforcements, ensuring they are well-versed in both theoretical and practical applications.Additionally, the course includes modules on pattern and mould making, where attendees will learn to create dimensionally accurate patterns from 2D profiles and work with polyurethane foam to form original shapes. The hands-on training will provide insights into coating, flatted, and polishing techniques that yield a professional-quality finish. Participants will also learn to make split-moulds and perform full layups using modern tooling materials, enhancing their understanding of the overall composite manufacturing workflow. This thorough approach ensures that by the end of the course, attendees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to design, manufacture, or repair modern composite parts effectively. The Advanced Composites Techniques in Industry course is being held in Bratislava, Slovakia, and is tailored for anyone interested in mastering the art of high-performance composite production.
