About This Event

The online crash course titled 'Crash course: EU Machinery Regulation vs. Machinery Directive' is designed for professionals in the mechanical and plant engineering sector, particularly those involved in design, development, quality management, standardization, and technical documentation. This course aims to provide participants with essential knowledge on the new EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230, which introduces expanded requirements for economic operators, especially manufacturers. The focus is on ensuring that only fundamentally safe machines and related products are placed on the market, thereby protecting manufacturers from potential product liability risks and criminal prosecution.Throughout this course, participants will learn to systematically and efficiently prepare the legally required proof of conformity, including risk assessments and product documentation. The course also covers how to handle relevant harmonized standards for machine safety and how to balance legal safety requirements with normative requirements. Key topics include the new requirements versus the Machinery Directive, procedures during the transition period until January 20, 2027, and practical implementation strategies for conformity assessment and risk assessment documentation as per EN ISO 12100:2012 and CEN ISO/TR 22100-1:2021. Led by Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Markus Lörtscher, an expert in the Machinery Directive and Regulation, this crash course is a valuable opportunity for CE officers, coordinators, and documentation managers to enhance their understanding and compliance strategies.
