About This Event
The Prague Metabolism and Signaling Symposium is set to take place at the National Technical Library in Prague, Czech Republic. Organized by the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, this symposium aims to gather experts at the forefront of research into metabolic changes that are pivotal in various physiological and diseased states. As the field continues to expand, the symposium will focus on the intricate signaling pathways that modulate metabolism in response to different metabolites. Key themes to be explored during the event include energy and metabolite sensing, organellar signaling, autophagy, the aging process, and the unique aspects of cancer, immune, and stem cell metabolism, as well as the role of metabolism in host-pathogen interactions. The event will feature around 30 distinguished speakers, including two keynote presentations that will address critical topics in metabolism and signaling. Notable confirmed speakers include Ralph DeBerardinis from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Omer Yilmaz from the Koch Institute at MIT, and Michael Hall from the Biozentrum at the University of Basel. Other prominent presenters include Brendan Manning from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Kuang Shen from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Mario Pende from Institut Necker Enfants Malades, and David Sabatini, who is affiliated with both IOCB Prague and Boston. The symposium will also provide an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions around the latest research findings and methodologies within the field. Attendees will benefit from access to the scientific program, symposium materials, coffee breaks, lunches, and a welcome cocktail reception, along with the chance to compete for the best poster prize which will be awarded during the closing remarks.
