About This Event
The Pelvic Venous Disease Summit aims to address the significant public health issue of chronic pelvic pain, which affects nearly 10 million women in the United States, with over 6 million suffering due to pelvic venous disease (PeVD). Many of these women face challenges in seeking adequate medical care, leading to over $1 billion spent annually on inappropriate tests and ineffective treatments, while their chronic pain remains unresolved. The summit is designed to be a pioneering conference that brings together healthcare professionals to tackle this pressing issue. The summit will convene a diverse group of specialists including Vascular Surgeons, Cardiologists, Interventional Radiologists, Gynecologists, Adolescent Medicine practitioners, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists, and Pelvic Sonographers. The key objectives of the event are to unify understanding of the complexities surrounding diagnosis and treatment of PeVD, and to develop educational materials for both patients and the healthcare providers who care for them. The American Venous Forum (AVF) recognizes the importance of a national meeting that encompasses various specialties involved in treating patients with PeVD, aiming to enhance knowledge and skills to improve care for this underserved population.
