About This Event
The 'Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function' workshop is a transformative experience tailored for manual therapists and movement therapists in Hobart, Australia. This workshop offers a comprehensive 21-hour program designed to enhance participants' understanding of myofascial anatomy, enabling them to assess postural and movement patterns effectively. Attendees will learn how myofascial tissues function in the body, gaining insights into how the Anatomy Train Lines facilitate smooth and balanced movement. The workshop emphasizes the importance of addressing restrictions or weaknesses in one area, as they can significantly affect other parts of the body. Participants will be equipped with strategies to trace lines of strain and develop effective interventions. This workshop is the first of its kind to integrate Anatomy Trains theory with structural and functional anatomy, combining the principles of tensegrity and elastic recoil for improved movement efficiency. Completing this course is essential as it serves as a prerequisite for the ATSI Professional Certification Training. The program also includes the Structural Essentials Program, which uniquely blends functional, fascial, and structural approaches to understand how the body moves. Participants will break down myths surrounding anatomy and physiology, learning to implement changes that enhance movement efficiency. The course environment encourages open inquiry, where questions are welcomed, and a lively atmosphere is fostered. Participants will engage in palpation practices and BodyReading, allowing for visual assessment under the guidance of instructors. This workshop is ideal for manual therapists seeking an introduction to myofascial anatomy, as well as movement therapists looking to expand their skill set. The course includes functional movement assessments and both standing and table-based manual therapy techniques, providing a diverse range of skills and a new professional vocabulary. While the manual therapy elements may require some level of disrobing, participants are assured of a discreet environment where comfort is prioritized. The workshop encourages full participation, as it enriches palpation skills and visual assessment capabilities. To prepare for the workshop, attendees are encouraged to read Tom Myers' 'Anatomy Trains 4th Edition Book', which provides familiarity with the Anatomy Train lines and vocabulary. This edition features an enhanced eBook format and includes updated images, making it an invaluable resource for participants.
