About This Event
The Program Information Sessions for the USC Program of Nurse Anesthesia offer prospective students an opportunity to learn about the comprehensive Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program. This full-time, 36-month professional degree program is designed to prepare nurse anesthesia trainees in the planning, administration, and evaluation of anesthesia and pain management throughout the perioperative continuum. The curriculum encompasses a rigorous academic framework combined with a diverse clinical experience across various healthcare settings, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to excel in the field of nurse anesthesiology.During the sessions, attendees will gain insight into the unique features of the program, including the hybrid format of the first semester, which involves both remote and in-person instruction. Subsequent coursework is delivered on the USC Health Sciences Campus, where students will engage in hands-on learning through multiple primary and enrichment clinical education sites, such as Keck Hospital of USC, Los Angeles General Medical Center, and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. The program emphasizes leadership development and comprehensive clinical training, allowing graduates to sit for the National Certification Examination (NCE) upon successful completion. Additionally, the program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, ensuring high educational standards.
