About This Event
The Day of BioMedical Research is an annual event held at the Julie-von-Jenner-Haus in Bern, Switzerland, dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in clinical and translational research. This forum provides researchers a platform to present their work through poster sessions, fostering a vibrant environment for networking and the exchange of innovative ideas. The event is not only open to the public, allowing broader community engagement, but also invites students and members of the institutes and clinics within the Faculty of Medicine and the Inselspital to submit their abstracts for the poster presentations. The event will highlight several keynote lectures by distinguished speakers, including Prof. Raphael Gottardo, who will discuss Using data science to accelerate clinical and translational insights, and Prof. Raphaëlle Luisier, focusing on Integrating imaging and omics data with AI to decode RNA in complex human disorders. In addition to the insightful presentations, the Day of BioMedical Research will feature an award ceremony recognizing outstanding contributions in various categories. Awards include the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award, which offers CHF 1,000, and multiple poster prizes for the Best Preclinical Project, Best Clinical Project, and Best Project by a Medical Student, each worth CHF 2,000. The event also includes the Research Prize Alumni MedBern, valued at CHF 2,000. Notable past awardees have included Sebastian B. Jordi for his work on automated workflows in bacterial genome reconstruction and Fabio Ryser for his research on Dupilumab treatment in chronic rhinosinusitis. The Day of BioMedical Research serves as a vital platform for promoting excellence and innovation in biomedical research, while also providing recognition and support to emerging scholars in the field.
