Youth Energy Conference and Awards Program

The Youth Energy Conference and Awards Program is designed for schools and families to showcase their commitment to energy education through the submission of a Youth Awards Signature Project. Participation requires individuals to be affiliated with an eligible project, with a designated lead teacher or parent acting as the primary contact throughout the event. This annual gathering will take place at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, offering a comprehensive experience that includes lodging, meals, and exciting activities.Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of amenities, including transportation to and from Reagan National Airport, meals that cover several days, and unique experiences such as an Old Towne Trolley Tour of Washington D.C. and a Spirit of Washington Dinner Cruise on the Potomac River. Participants will also have the chance to win prizes throughout the event and will be provided with all necessary supplies for the Energy Challenge. The event is structured to accommodate various lodging arrangements, allowing participants to stay in individual or shared hotel rooms, with specific rates for different occupancy levels. Registration for the conference requires fees to be submitted by a specified deadline, ensuring that all participants are prepared for an enriching experience. The conference aims to equip students with valuable skills and knowledge in the field of energy and science, encouraging them to engage actively in planning and implementing workshops and programs. Eligible participants must be at least 13 years old and should possess the ability to travel independently. While parental involvement is welcomed, the program emphasizes the importance of developing leadership skills among students, advocating for their capability to participate without direct supervision. The Youth Energy Conference and Awards Program not only encourages a commitment to energy education but also fosters a spirit of professionalism, honesty, and dedication among its participants.
