HSC Youth Ambassador Program

The HSC Youth Ambassador Program, part of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC), is an initiative dedicated to empowering young leaders from Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) to engage actively in sustainability dialogues. This program addresses the underrepresentation of EMDE voices in international policy discussions by providing a platform for these young changemakers to share their insights, influence global action, and shape the sustainability agenda. The program highlights the critical role that youth play not only as future leaders but also as key agents of change in today's world.The selected cohort of 15 youth ambassadors includes a diverse group of leaders with varied expertise. Among them is a public health leader focusing on environmental health and the empowerment of indigenous youth. Another ambassador is a youth activist committed to driving climate resilience and promoting circular economy initiatives. The program also features an environmental advocate specializing in microplastics and waste reduction solutions, and a cleantech innovator dedicated to developing low-carbon biofuel solutions tailored for emerging markets. Other notable ambassadors include a rural development leader advocating for sustainable farming and fair-trade practices, a pioneer in digital inclusion and women-led startups, and a climate finance advocate focused on enhancing clean-energy policies and fostering global cooperation.In addition to these roles, participants include youth leaders working on climate preparedness and environmental education, social entrepreneurs enhancing clean energy access through solar microgrids, and advocates for water sustainability and biodiversity conservation. Each ambassador brings unique perspectives and skills to the program, contributing to a rich dialogue on sustainability and global interconnectedness. The HSC Youth Ambassador Program ultimately aims to strengthen the voices of young leaders in shaping effective sustainability policies and practices, fostering collaboration across cultures to create impactful solutions.
