SEE SDEWES Conference Burgas

The South East European Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SEE SDEWES) serves as a pivotal platform dedicated to advancing and disseminating knowledge on sustainable development methods, policies, and technologies. This conference focuses on decoupling growth from the consumption of natural resources and transitioning to a knowledge-based economy, ensuring that all aspects of sustainability—including economic, environmental, and social pillars—are adequately addressed. One of the core themes of the conference is to enhance efficiencies by integrating various life-supporting systems, leveraging excess resources from one system as inputs for another in a timely manner. Critical areas for integration include electricity, heating, cooling, transport, water, buildings, waste, and agriculture, which are essential for achieving sustainable development. The SEE SDEWES Conference attracts researchers from diverse fields to originate, discuss, share, and disseminate innovative ideas and best practices. Topics of interest encompass sustainability metrics and indices, green economy strategies, smart energy systems, energy system analysis, transport management, the water-energy nexus, sustainable tourism, urbanism, and regional planning. The discussions aim to foster energy and climate policy, smart transport systems, energy markets, emission markets, and environmental policy management. Moreover, the conference emphasizes the significance of research, innovation, and education in sustainable development, addressing renewable energy resources, energy-efficient appliances, and innovative technologies in energy conversion and storage. Participants will explore the socio-political dimensions of sustainable development, assessing long-term planning, benchmarking city performances, and engaging in collaborative efforts to promote sustainable practices across the region. The event is organized by SDEWES and will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, making it a key event for those involved in sustainability efforts in the region.
