About This Event
The 'Power Quality and Reliability' training course is designed to address the pressing issues of power quality in modern electrical networks, particularly in Muscat, Oman. As power quality degradation continues to challenge industries, this course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure their power systems meet customer expectations. The training will cover critical topics such as the effects of fault clearing on voltage, transient overvoltages, and the analysis of AC power alongside steady-state voltage regulation. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of common power quality and reliability terms, enabling them to assess the impact of voltage sags on sensitive electrical equipment and comprehend the influence of fault clearing on voltage stability. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the course will provide practical insights into calculating and using standardized reliability indices, understanding the sources of transient overvoltages, and specifying suitable arresters. Participants will learn about the production of harmonics, the implementation of mitigation methods, and will analyze the components of AC power to understand their relationship with voltage regulation. This training course is essential for professionals involved in managing electrical systems, particularly those facing challenges related to sensitive operations, irregular loads, and weak grids. By attending, participants will bolster their ability to safeguard the reliability of electrical systems, thereby enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
