About This Event

The Annual Detection of Intrusions and Malware & Vulnerability Assessment Conference, commonly known as DIMVA, is a leading forum dedicated to advancing the state of the art in the fields of intrusion detection, malware analysis, and vulnerability assessment. Organized by the Security – Intrusion Detection and Response (SIDAR) special interest group of the German Informatics Society (GI), DIMVA attracts a diverse range of international experts from academia, industry, and government. The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, ensuring that the valuable research presented is widely disseminated.DIMVA invites high-quality submissions of original scientific papers that present innovative research on topics including data leakage, exfiltration, privacy, legal and social aspects, as well as financially targeted malware such as ransomware and DeFi attacks. Papers will be evaluated based on their novelty, significance, correctness, and clarity, with an emphasis on bridging research across different communities. The conference encourages submissions of full papers, limited to 25 pages total, with specific formatting requirements for main content, bibliography, and appendices to facilitate a fair review process. Notably, DIMVA will implement a double-blind reviewing process to ensure impartiality, requiring authors to anonymize their submissions adequately. In addition to full papers, DIMVA also welcomes poster submissions highlighting preliminary results, ongoing projects, or recently published research. These posters will be displayed in a format that encourages interaction between attendees and presenters, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Each poster submission must include a draft and a poster paper formatted according to the LNCS guidelines, with the poster paper comprising 4 to 6 pages. At least one author of each accepted poster is required to attend the conference to engage with participants. The conference will take place at the KAM Center of Mediterranean Architecture in Chania, Greece, a historically significant venue that has undergone restoration to become a vibrant multipurpose space for cultural events and scientific symposiums. The Grand Arsenal, where the conference is hosted, has a rich history dating back to its construction in 1585 and has been transformed into a remarkable facility for events that emphasize architecture and design. DIMVA is not only a platform for presenting groundbreaking research but also a venue that promotes discussions on ethical considerations in research, especially concerning human subjects and the potential negative impacts of published findings. All participants are encouraged to engage thoughtfully with these important issues throughout the conference.
