CARISCA Supply Chain Research Summit

The CARISCA Supply Chain Research Summit is an influential annual event aimed at bolstering African supply chain capacity and advancing research on the continent. Scheduled to take place at the Cedi Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana, this sixth installment of the summit seeks to attract a diverse group of supply chain scholars, students, professionals, and decision-makers from various parts of Africa and beyond. Building on the success of the previous summit in Lagos, Nigeria, which drew around 350 participants from 17 countries and featured over 81 presentations, the 2026 summit promises to delve deeper into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on supply chains across Africa.The theme for the 2026 summit is Transforming Supply Chains in Africa in the Age of AI, which highlights key tracks focusing on logistics management, procurement, health and pharmaceutical supply chains, as well as emerging issues in local and global supply chains. Participants will engage in discussions related to the governance of AI-enabled supply chains, public policy implications, and the resilience of African supply chains, thus fostering a comprehensive understanding of current challenges and opportunities. The summit will also feature a call for papers, encouraging Africa-based researchers to submit their best PhD dissertation proposals for consideration in the Paper Development Workshop (PDW) hosted by the Africa Initiative of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (IJOPM) in collaboration with CARISCA. As a Centre of Excellence at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, CARISCA aims to enhance the quality of research and education in supply chain management. The summit not only serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among industry leaders but also facilitates practical insights that can significantly influence participants' careers and research endeavors.
