About This Event
The CLIMADEMIC Summer School is an exciting event taking place in Berlin, Germany, from June 29 to July 3, 2026. This intensive program is hosted by the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Health Research (ZKI-PH) at the Robert Koch Institute and aims to explore the crucial links between climate change and health. The summer school is specifically designed for international doctoral and postdoctoral researchers who have academic backgrounds in climate science, modeling, epidemiology, public health, machine learning, or data science. Participants will engage in a week-long program that encompasses lectures, discussions, and interdisciplinary exchanges with leading experts in the field. The program's curriculum focuses on the interactions between climate change and health, equipping participants with the tools necessary to tackle global challenges in this area. Attendees will receive exposure to state-of-the-art methodologies in climate research and epidemiology, as well as insights into how artificial intelligence can be utilized to address complex cross-domain research questions. Furthermore, the summer school provides an enriching experience through interactive discussions and networking opportunities with peers and experts from around the world. Participants will also receive a certificate of successful participation upon completion. The participation fee covers all program activities, including daily lunch and refreshments, while travel and accommodation costs will be the responsibility of the attendees themselves. The CLIMADEMIC project, which underpins this summer school, aims to identify and predict the mechanisms linking climate change with pandemic dynamics, utilizing advanced numerical climate models and cutting-edge findings from related fields. This initiative seeks to develop a comprehensive understanding of the global and regional climate-related threats to human health, thus laying the groundwork for effective prevention and adaptation strategies.
