About This Event
The 'Power System Quality: Analysis and Problem Solving' course is designed to delve into the multifaceted aspects of power quality, addressing its significance and the economic consequences that arise from subpar power conditions. This comprehensive curriculum will cover essential themes such as voltage and frequency governance within power systems, as well as the sources and mitigation strategies for harmonic distortion. Participants will engage with both theoretical concepts and practical applications, utilizing dedicated software tailored for power quality analysis and enhancement.Targeted at engineers, designers, and maintenance personnel responsible for ensuring the quality of power systems, this course aims to equip attendees with pragmatic solutions for overcoming challenges related to power quality. Upon successful completion, participants will gain a profound understanding of the importance of power quality, identify the causes of poor power conditions, and explore principles for effectively controlling voltage and frequency across power networks. Furthermore, attendees will gain insights into harmonic distortion and the corresponding solutions. The course will encompass a variety of topics, including variations from acceptable power quality conditions, the economic impact of inadequate power quality, causes of voltage sags and swells, frequency variation analysis, and steady-state voltage control in grid systems. Participants will also explore practical sessions at individual workstations, utilizing power application software for real-world problem-solving scenarios.Additional subjects covered include the effects of line and cable characteristics, voltage control in both distribution networks and industrial networks, as well as frequency control within transmission systems. Participants will also be introduced to the planning and execution of power quality surveys, modeling harmonics, and troubleshooting with power application software. The course will incorporate worked examples and case studies, ensuring that all theoretical knowledge is complemented by practical, hands-on experience. Overall, this course is intended to foster a robust understanding of power quality issues and equip technical staff with the necessary skills to address these challenges effectively.
