In just two decades, the industry has grown exponentially. There are over one hundred thousand large and small poultry farms across the country. These industries are crucial for food, nutrition, income, export earnings, and more. The "8th Bangladesh International Poultry & Livestock Expo 2025" will showcase the rapid development of this industry in the country and its new technological components. The 8th Bangladesh Poultry & Livestock Expo 2025 is the oldest and largest international exhibition of its kind, serving Bangladesh's poultry, livestock, and animal husbandry industries for 8 years. Over the years, the demand for poultry products in Bangladesh has grown significantly; by 2023, per capita annual consumption increased to 9.945 kg of poultry meat and 5.96 kg (126 pieces) of eggs. Due to the high growth rate of poultry numbers, the achievements of the poultry sub-sector are as prominent as expected. According to BPICC sources, poultry investment in the 1980s was only 15 billion Bangladeshi Taka, while it has now reached 390 billion Bangladeshi Taka. Bangladesh has huge export potential and is expected to achieve self-sufficiency in chicken production in a short period, as the industry is projected to attract 50 billion Bangladeshi Taka in investment over the next two years. Commercial poultry farms are growing at a rate of 15% annually, and investment in the industry is expected to double in the next decade. It is estimated that currently 1 million entrepreneurs and 8 million people commercially produce 10.22 billion eggs and 1.46 million tons of poultry meat annually.
