Introduction
Art Basel, founded in 1970, is committed to its role of connecting top galleries worldwide with their patrons, while also serving as a platform for exchange within the international art community. Art Basel features 287 leading galleries from 40 countries and regions, with international art elites gathering once again in Basel, Switzerland. The "Curated Sections" exhibition area focuses on presenting art historical projects, bringing together 16 galleries to showcase carefully curated exhibitions, 11 of which are first-time participants. Key highlights include: a refined retrospective of artist Jean Tinguely, presented by first-time exhibiting gallery Galerie Mueller (Basel); a series of exquisite oil paintings by Basel-born artist Irène Zurkinden, represented by first-time exhibiting gallery Meredith Rosen Gallery (New York); OH Gallery (Dhaka) presents an exhibition of works by Senegalese artist Viyé Diba, a soul figure of Senegalese modern art; and Bank (Shanghai) represents the extraordinary artistic partnership between Wanman and Song Huaigui (Ms. Song). In addition to the curated sections and gallery presentations, Art Basel also sees Basel's world-class museums and foundations preparing special programs to coincide with the event, ensuring the city becomes a vibrant hub for art lovers and professionals.
