Introduction
The INTERNATIONAL APPAREL AND TEXTILE FAIR SUMMER is the largest and most influential professional exhibition for textiles, apparel, and fabrics in South America and Mexico, held twice annually at the Expo Guadalajara International Exhibition Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. This exhibition has a long history, and as the largest apparel and fabric event in South America, it is not only an important platform for industry exchange and trade cooperation but also a strategic shortcut for many international companies to enter the vast South American consumer market, bypass textile quota restrictions via Mexico, and effectively expand into the US market. The exhibition is grand in scale; although a single event's exhibition area is less than 10,000 square meters, its overall influence radiates across the entire American continent. The exhibition annually attracts over 25,000 professional buyers, primarily from Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, and Spain, covering more than 30 countries and regions across South America, North America, Central America, and even Europe, fully reflecting its international and diversified characteristics. The total exhibition area is 35,000 square meters, accommodating over 1,300 standard booths, providing ample display space for exhibitors. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) signed between Mexico and the United States brings unique advantages to the exhibition. Under this agreement, as of January 1, 1994, the US eliminated quota restrictions on textile and apparel imports from Mexico and granted a series of tariff concessions. Furthermore, most South American countries such as Brazil, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Colombia have also signed Free Trade Agreements with the US, resulting in very low tariffs for finished apparel entering the US market, which greatly stimulates the enormous demand for fabrics and accessories in South America. Therefore, this exhibition is not only an ideal choice for enterprises to explore the South American market but also a key channel to expand their market share in the US, providing unparalleled business opportunities for participants in the global textile and apparel supply chain.
Exhibit Scope
The International Apparel and Textile Fair Summer features an extremely wide range of exhibits, covering all aspects of the textile and apparel industry chain, aiming to provide exhibitors and professional buyers with a one-stop sourcing and communication platform. In terms of finished apparel, the exhibition showcases various men's, women's, and children's clothing, including but not limited to fashion casual wear, business formal wear, sports and outdoor wear, underwear, swimwear, loungewear, uniforms, evening gowns, wedding dresses, and special functional clothing. These finished garments are diverse in style, novel in design, and keep pace with international fashion trends, meeting the needs of different consumer groups. In terms of fabrics and accessories, the exhibition gathers various natural fiber fabrics (such as cotton, linen, silk, wool), chemical fiber fabrics (such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, spandex), blended fabrics, functional fabrics (such as waterproof, windproof, breathable, antibacterial, anti-UV), eco-friendly fabrics, knitted fabrics, woven fabrics, printed fabrics, jacquard fabrics, and various leather and fur products. Accessories include buttons, zippers, labels, webbings, laces, embroideries, rivets, sequins, linings, shoulder pads, sewing threads, etc., offering a wide variety for apparel designers and manufacturers. In addition, the exhibition also displays home textiles, such as bedding (sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, blankets), curtains, sofa fabrics, towels, bath towels, and various textile decorative items. Textile machinery and equipment are also an important part of the exhibition, including sewing equipment, cutting equipment, CAD/CAM systems, printing equipment, embroidery equipment, testing equipment, ironing equipment, and other related production and processing equipment and technologies. Simultaneously, the exhibition also covers fashion accessories, such as scarves, hats, gloves, socks, bags, footwear, jewelry, further enriching the diversity of exhibits. By comprehensively showcasing the entire industry chain from raw materials to finished products, from design to production, this exhibition provides an efficient and convenient trade platform for professionals in the global textile and apparel industry, helping enterprises seize market opportunities and achieve business growth.
