2027 Istanbul International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), Turkey

IDEF (International Defence Industry Fair) is one of the world's most important defense exhibitions, held biennially in Istanbul, Turkey. Since its first staging in 1993, IDEF has developed into a leading platform connecting the global defense industry, governments, and military institutions. The exhibition is organized by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence and supported by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF), enjoying a prestigious reputation for its authority and professionalism in the international defense sector. The purpose of IDEF is to showcase the latest achievements of Turkey and its allies in defense technology and products, promote international cooperation and exchange, and provide insights into the future development of the defense industry. IDEF's scale has expanded with each edition, typically attracting hundreds of exhibitors from dozens of countries worldwide, including many internationally renowned defense contractors, technology suppliers, and major Turkish defense companies. During the exhibition, tens of thousands of professional visitors are expected, including defense ministers, senior military officials, procurement officers, technical experts, and industry analysts from various countries. The exhibition not only provides a platform for showcasing cutting-edge defense technologies but also serves as an important venue for business negotiations, contract signings, and the establishment of strategic partnerships. In addition to static displays, IDEF usually arranges dynamic demonstrations, seminars, and round table discussions to explore the latest trends, challenges, and solutions in the defense sector, such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence applications in the military, unmanned systems technology, and future battlefield concepts. IDEF holds milestone significance for the development of the Turkish defense industry, as it not only enhances Turkey's position in the global defense market but also provides a broad stage for Turkish companies to go international.
