Introduction
Exhibition Scale: Less than 10,000 sqm. The Korea International Seafood & Fisheries Expo (BISFE) in Busan is certified by UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) and has been selected as a 'prestigious exhibition' recognized by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for 11 consecutive years from 2008 to 2018. It is truly a professional trade fair for the fisheries industry in Korea with international competitiveness and significant scale. BISFE will provide a trade platform with the active participation of domestic and international seafood experts. Leading domestic and international seafood companies, relevant organizations, and high-purchasing buyers will attend this expo. To facilitate information exchange, explore new sales channels, and expand export markets, overseas buyers are invited, and export consultation meetings and domestic trade consultation meetings are held simultaneously, offering more practical business opportunities. Concurrently, important academic conferences in the fisheries sector and various related activities are held, making it a professional fisheries festival in Korea involving industry, academia, government, and the public. Participating in this exhibition allows for a more direct understanding of the development and specific market demands of Korean and even global products, which is conducive to improving the technical content of products, adjusting and improving product structures, laying the foundation for producing high-quality products, and also guiding the improvement of exports and ensuring normal export operations. Market Analysis: Korea is a major global producer, consumer, and trader of aquatic products. Located in Northeast Asia, Korea's maritime area is five times its land area, boasting rich marine resources that provide excellent conditions for the development of the fisheries industry. Due to the alternating warm and cold currents in its waters, it is very suitable for the habitation and reproduction of fish, offering unique environmental advantages for marine fishery development. Busan is a crucial 'gateway' connecting the Pacific Rim and Eurasia, a city that balances the development of aquatic food, aquaculture equipment, and marine biotechnology industries, and possesses supporting infrastructure as a hub for aquatic logistics and trade. Therefore, this expo held in Busan will clearly showcase the development trends of the Asian fisheries industry. According to Korean customs statistics, from January to September 2017, the bilateral goods import and export value between Korea and China was 173.71 billion US dollars, an increase of 13.6%. Of this, Korea's exports to China were 101.66 billion US dollars, an increase of 13.4%, accounting for 23.6% of Korea's total exports, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points; imports from China were 72.05 billion US dollars, an increase of 14.0%, accounting for 20.3% of Korea's total imports, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points. Korea's trade surplus with China was 29.62 billion US dollars, an increase of 12.0% compared to the previous year. As of September, China was Korea's largest trading partner.
