Introduction
The Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) is one of the oldest, largest, and most influential comprehensive international trade exhibitions in Greece and Southeast Europe. Since its first staging in 1926, it has become an important part of Greece's economic, social, and cultural life, witnessing nearly a century of Greek development. TIF is held annually in September in Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city, organized by DEI-Helexpo, attracting exhibitors from around the world and hundreds of thousands of visitors.
TIF is not just a commodity trading platform; it is also an important forum for showcasing innovation, promoting business cooperation, and discussing socio-economic issues. The exhibition covers a wide range of industries, including furniture, home goods, food and beverages, energy, technological innovation, startups, circular economy, tourism, education, and more, aiming to comprehensively reflect current economic development trends and future prospects. Each year, TIF invites a country to serve as the "Honored Guest Country," further promoting international trade and cultural exchange. For example, China, the United States, and Russia have all served as TIF's honored guest countries, greatly enhancing the exhibition's international influence.
During the exhibition, in addition to traditional product displays, a series of high-level forums, seminars, cultural events, and business matching meetings are held, providing rich networking opportunities for exhibitors and visitors. These activities not only offer a platform for enterprises to expand markets and find partners but also provide a venue for policymakers, scholars, and the public to discuss important issues such as economic development, social progress, and environmental protection. TIF plays an irreplaceable role in boosting the Greek economy, promoting regional cooperation, and showcasing the national image, serving as an important window to understand the Greek market and business opportunities in Southeast Europe.
