Exhibition Scale: Less than 10,000 EGYTEX, the Cairo Textile Exhibition in Egypt, is an excellent opportunity for textile production enterprises to benefit from Egypt's free trade agreements. It is Egypt's largest and only international trade fair for fibers, yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textiles, and accessories, showcasing all products involved in the entire supply chain of textile production. Since its inception in Cairo in 1997, EGYTEX has impressed exhibitors from Egypt and other countries around the world, including the UK, France, Germany, the US, China, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Syria, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Morocco. EGYTEX is held in a trade hub in the Middle East and Mediterranean region to meet the region's demand for trade and competitively priced textile products. Exhibitors from Asia, Europe, and Middle Eastern countries will showcase their products and services, complementing product categories lacking from Egyptian producers. Egypt has signed free trade agreements with Europe, the US, Turkey, and other Arab countries. Under the preferential terms of these agreements, Egypt is more actively producing apparel and textiles for export to EU countries and the US. However, Egypt has not performed as well as expected; although Egypt has some well-known local yarns, fabrics, and accessories, it lacks more varieties, and producing these varieties is not cost-effective in Egypt. Therefore, 70% of Egypt's yarn and fabric and 80% of its accessories must be imported, with China being their target for increased imports and developing closer trade relations.
