The SUSTAINABLE FISH SHOW in Genoa, Italy, formerly known as SLOW FISH, is a significant international event in the Mediterranean region and globally, focusing on sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. Founded by the Slow Food organization, it adheres to its philosophy of "good, clean, and fair," aiming to promote responsible fishing, farming, and consumption patterns, protect marine biodiversity, and support small-scale fishers and sustainable fishing communities. Since its inception, the exhibition has been held biennially in the historic port city of Genoa, attracting fisheries professionals, aquaculture enterprises, environmental organizations, research institutions, and a wide range of consumers from around the world. The exhibition is not only a platform for showcasing products and technologies but also a comprehensive event for exchanging ideas, discussing policies, and experiencing culture. Through seminars, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and tasting events, the SUSTAINABLE FISH SHOW is dedicated to raising public awareness of sustainable fisheries and promoting the industry's shift towards more environmentally friendly and equitable directions. The 2007 exhibition already demonstrated its strong international influence, attracting 170 companies from 20 countries, covering an exhibition area of 8,532 square meters, and hosting 44,816 professional visitors and general public, fully reflecting its leading position and appeal in the field of sustainable fisheries.
