Introduction
The Peru International Defense Technology Exhibition (SITDEF) is one of the most influential defense and security technology exhibitions in Latin America. Although specific historical information is not provided, SITDEF is typically held biennially, aiming to showcase the latest innovations in global defense, aerospace, cybersecurity, and military technology. The exhibition is organized by the Peruvian Ministry of Defense and strongly supported by the Peruvian Armed Forces and National Police, which ensures its significant position in national security strategy and high-level participation. SITDEF is not only a product display platform but also an important occasion for promoting international defense cooperation, technological exchange, and strategic dialogue. The exhibition attracts high-ranking government officials, military procurement decision-makers, defense industry leaders, technical experts, and representatives from research institutions from around the world. Exhibitors include top global defense contractors, weapon manufacturers, aerospace companies, communication technology providers, and security solution providers. Through SITDEF, exhibiting companies can directly access defense procurement needs from Peru and neighboring Latin American countries, establish business contacts, and explore potential cooperation opportunities. During the exhibition, a series of seminars, technical lectures, and live demonstrations are also held to delve into current and future defense challenges and solutions, covering various hot topics from traditional military equipment to cutting-edge cyber warfare and the application of artificial intelligence in defense. SITDEF plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the modernization of defense in Peru and the entire Latin American region, and in enhancing regional security cooperation.
