SAIGONTEX, the Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition, has been the largest and most influential event in the textile and garment industry in Vietnam since the 1990s, continuously providing high-quality professional buyers for exhibitors. Vietnam's textile and garment industry continues to flourish. In recent years, Vietnam has actively signed multiple bilateral and regional free trade agreements, bringing new opportunities to various industries. The textile and garment industry is one of Vietnam's economic pillars, with huge development potential. According to statistics from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), in 2017, despite numerous negative market impacts, textile and garment export activities still achieved positive results, reaching the target of 31 billion USD. In the first quarter of 2018, the total export value of textile and garment products was estimated at 7.62 billion USD, an increase of 13.35% year-on-year, equivalent to 22.4% of this year's target. Vietnam's export target for garments and textiles in 2018 was 34-34.5 billion USD.
