The Breathe Conference, organized by Catalyst International, is a transformative retreat designed specifically for full-time Christian global workers. Set in the picturesque Credo Schloss Unspunnen in Interlaken, Switzerland, this ten-day experience offers a sanctuary for individuals, couples, and families who serve across cultures. The retreat acknowledges the unique complexities and emotional burdens that global workers face—ranging from language barriers and cultural shifts to health concerns and family dynamics. Participants will find a supportive environment where they can rejuvenate and rediscover their strength, hope, and joy in ministry. The program is meticulously crafted to facilitate both personal and communal healing through a variety of activities including teaching sessions, small group discussions, counseling, medical consultations, and even massages and life coaching. Children and teens are not left out; they have tailored programs that cater to the unique needs of Third Culture Kids, ensuring that the whole family can engage fully in this restorative journey. With limited space available, priority is given to those planning to live outside their passport countries. The venue itself is a castle-like hotel offering breathtaking views of the Jungfrau glacier and Lake of Brienz, alongside amenities such as cozy lounges, sports fields, and terraces with panoramic sights. The Breathe Conference is distinct from conventional conferences; it emphasizes reflection and relaxation over jam-packed schedules and extensive paperwork. Mornings are dedicated to worship and meaningful biblical teachings, while afternoons allow for personal counseling with trained member care professionals. Participants can address issues such as grief, anxiety, and burnout in a safe and nurturing environment. Additionally, a physician is available for health consultations, and massage therapists provide restorative care. The children’s program engages kids in vibrant activities inspired by Vacation Bible Camp, while youth leaders facilitate discussions and community-building among teens. Catering is handled by the warm and welcoming staff, providing three delicious meals daily. Participants are encouraged to take a break from cooking and enjoy the supportive atmosphere. The retreat's location is easily accessible via Switzerland's efficient public transportation system, with options for scenic train rides from both Zurich and Geneva airports. Although a rental car is not necessary, families may opt for it for convenience. The cost of the retreat is significantly subsidized thanks to donor generosity, making it accessible to those in need. With a focus on fellowship, spiritual growth, and practical support, the Breathe Conference invites global workers to take a much-needed pause, allowing them to reconnect with God and receive fresh encouragement for their ongoing ministry. This unique retreat not only aims to bring healing but also to inspire renewed vision and commitment as participants prepare for the next season of life and work.
