活动介绍
The EFIC Pain School on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of early-career healthcare professionals who work with chronic pain patients. This comprehensive educational program focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, integrating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of a biopsychosocial model in understanding and treating chronic pain, where an individual's pain complaints are assessed through thorough histories, physical examinations, and evaluations of the symptoms' impact on daily functioning. The aim is to equip participants with practical skills in using evidence-based treatments, including multimodal pain rehabilitation techniques.Participants will have the opportunity to learn from esteemed speakers in the field, including leading professionals such as Indre Bileviciute Ljunga, a pain medicine physician from Sweden, and Luis Garcia-Larrea, President of EFIC and professor in Clinical Neurophysiology from France. Other notable speakers include Daniel Ciampi de Andrade, a specialist in Neurology from Denmark, Eleni Chrona, a Consultant Anesthesiologist from Greece, and Steven Stanos, Head of Pain Services from the USA, among many others. The school is aimed at a select group of 15 applicants, who will receive all teaching activities free of charge, alongside accommodation and meals, with travel costs being the only expense. For those not selected, participation as a self-paying attendee is also available for a fee of 1,000 euros, which covers lectures, accommodations, and meals during the event. This initiative not only aims to spread awareness about the integration of physical and rehabilitation medicine in chronic pain management but also to foster a community of practitioners dedicated to improving the quality of care for patients suffering from chronic pain.
