The 2026 Naples Workshop on Bioactive Peptides is set to bring together leading scientists from academia, as well as the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, to present the most advanced studies in peptide science. This prestigious event marks the 19th edition of the workshop, a continuation of a legacy that began in 1988. Entitled 'The World of Peptides: A Never-Ending Tale', the workshop will take place at the Centro Congressi of the University of Naples 'Federico II', an extraordinary venue situated in the picturesque surroundings of Naples, Italy. Attendees can expect a comprehensive exploration of the latest developments and future directions of peptide science, highlighting its relevant applications in life sciences.The workshop is structured to facilitate extensive knowledge sharing, featuring six sessions that include plenary lectures, keynote addresses, and oral presentations, as well as two dedicated poster sessions. A notable aspect of the program is a session that provides companies focused on peptide therapeutics and related technologies the opportunity to present their perspectives on current and future strategies. Additionally, contributions from young scientists will be encouraged, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. A significant focus of the workshop will be on structure-activity relationship studies, which are crucial for peptide chemists aiming to enhance the biological properties of native peptides and convert them into more drug-like compounds. Emerging topics in this edition will cover various fields, including Drug Development, the intersection of Peptides and Artificial Intelligence, Chemical Biology, Immunology, Antimicrobial Activity, as well as Diagnostic and Therapeutic Applications, Peptide Mimetics, Chemical Ligation and Bioconjugation, and Folding and Aggregation. The event is held under the auspices of The European Peptide Society and the Italian Peptide Society, featuring contributions from esteemed speakers such as Giancarlo Morelli, Paolo Grieco, Michele Saviano, and Menotti Ruvo, who will address critical questions surrounding peptide drug development in the era of artificial intelligence.
