The AgWorks webinar titled 'All About Farm Labor Contractors' is designed to provide essential information regarding farm labor contractor requirements and agricultural employer responsibilities, specifically under federal and Pennsylvania law. This educational session will delve into the qualifications that define a farm labor contractor, the key legal requirements, exemptions, and the implications of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act and the Pennsylvania Seasonal Farm Labor Act. Participants will also gain insights into contractor permitting requirements and the potential joint employer liability that agricultural employers may face when engaging with farm labor contractors.This no-cost webinar, made possible through an AgWorks grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, welcomes attendees from all backgrounds. It aims to equip owners of farm, food, forestry, and agribusinesses with vital knowledge to navigate the regulatory landscape. An optional second hour will be available for attendees to pose legal questions and engage in discussions about real-world scenarios with legal experts. To facilitate grant tracking and eligibility, participants will be asked to provide some information about their agribusiness during registration. This information will remain confidential.Furthermore, additional training and consultation services are accessible at no cost for qualifying small- to medium-sized farms and agribusinesses in Pennsylvania as part of this initiative. Registrants will receive access to the webinar link and a recorded version within ten business days after the live session, which will remain available for viewing for six months.
