Join fellow Buckeyes for the 8th Annual Boating Event at the Pontiac Yacht Club in Orchard Lake Village, Michigan. This enjoyable gathering is set to take place from noon to 6 p.m. ET, celebrating the camaraderie among alumni in a picturesque lakeside setting. Participants can look forward to a variety of activities designed to bring people together, including water volleyball, kayaking, paddleboarding, and potentially sailing if the weather permits. This family-friendly event promotes relaxation and socializing, making it the perfect day out on the beautiful Cass Lake.A special highlight of this year's event is guest speaker Tom Klaban, a former Ohio State kicker known for his memorable contributions to the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan. Tom will share insights from his inspiring book, which narrates the Klaban family's remarkable ten-year journey to escape life behind the Iron Curtain. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Tom during a book signing, and a portion of the book sales will benefit the Alumni Club of Detroit. Guests are encouraged to contribute to the potluck-style gathering by bringing a dish to share and, if possible, any watersport equipment or a boat to enhance the day's activities. The club will provide the main course and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a delightful day filled with good food, great company, and unforgettable memories.
