The event titled 'Micronesia: Power Grid upgrade in Pohnpei, Yap and Kosrae (FSM Access and Renewable Increase for Sustainable Energy Project (ARISE))' is organized by the Department of Resources and Development (DoR&D). This virtual Early Market Engagement (EME) session aims to gather insights, input, and feedback from participants regarding the upcoming procurement package related to the power grid upgrades in Pohnpei, Yap, and Kosrae. The session is an opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate with the DoR&D as they develop their procurement approach and bidding documents for this vital project.The project encompasses significant rehabilitation and strengthening of the electricity distribution networks across the three regions. In Pohnpei, the enhancements will include automation, protection improvements, resilience upgrades, SCADA integration, and various infrastructure upgrades such as switch replacements and conductor improvements. Kosrae's distribution network will see similar attention, focusing on relocating poles in erosion-prone areas, replacing deteriorated infrastructure, and upgrading lines and protection systems. In Yap, the construction of underground distribution feeders aims to enhance supply reliability for critical facilities, involving substation extensions and necessary communication upgrades. Throughout this session, participants are encouraged to provide their valuable feedback, which will be instrumental in finalizing the Bidding Documents for the project's procurement process.
