展会简介

The Mid-Year Government Affairs webinar is designed to offer participants a comprehensive overview of current federal, state, and regulatory activities that impact the industry. The session will delve into critical topics such as Qualified Production Activity tax recognition and the ongoing agency engagement concerning reusable healthcare textiles. Attendees will also gain insights into state legislative initiatives, particularly those focused on reusable practices and new environmental policies that could affect operations and compliance. Additionally, the webinar will present opportunities for political action committee (PAC) and grassroots engagement, allowing members to actively participate in shaping industry policies.A key highlight of the event will be a presentation by Kevin Schwalb, the Vice President of Government Relations for the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA). With a robust track record in advocacy, Kevin has played a pivotal role in enhancing TRSA's efforts across various levels of government. His notable achievements include reforms such as the California Title 22, tax reductions in states like Missouri, and significant contributions to Indiana’s Wage Assignment Act. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was instrumental in securing an 'essential service' designation for the textile services industry. Kevin's extensive experience includes his role as a Presidential Appointee in the George W. Bush administration, where he worked closely with the Department of Labor on crucial issues concerning OSHA, Wage & Hour, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. His legislative expertise is expected to provide valuable perspectives on tax relief and regulatory challenges faced by the textile services sector. The TRSA is dedicated to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, emphasizing adherence to their policy against the use of AI notetaking or recording tools during the event.
